Executive Coaching and Consulting

If you are reading these words, you are probably looking for something more in your career. Most of us are wired to seek a higher level of success. That may mean a greater level of job satisfaction, a promotion, higher income or a totally new career. Perhaps you want to build a better team environment that maximizes success for each individual employee and the organization. It may be time to refine or develop a new five-year plan that gives you a clearer vision of what success looks like for you.

Coaching is a powerful weapon that should be in every executive’s arsenal. Top athletes hire a coach to push them to their maximum potential. If you’re serious about your own professional development, you should have someone come alongside you in much the same manner.

My Role as Your Coach

First of all you need to know that I am as serious about your professional growth as you are. We will work collaboratively to develop a coaching program specifically tailored for your goals and needs. YOU set the agenda. I will guide you through the process. I will challenge your thinking and actions, ask probing, powerful questions designed to unlock awareness in you that helps you design strategies to move you towards your goals. I will help you identify and remove barriers that have become roadblocks in your life. I will encourage you and celebrate your victories with you.   Most importantly, I will hold you accountable for implementing change strategies in your career.

How Coaching Works

Coaching is a true partnership. We work together to design goals for your coaching program. My job is to provide you with a confidential and safe environment that fosters openness and honesty. Your job is to be willing to take risks and explore new ideas and actions. I will deal with you truthfully and honestly and in a non-judgmental manner.

Coaching can be done in person at my office in Okemos or by telephone. Some clients do a combination of both. A typical coaching program consists of two-45 minute sessions per month.

The most progress in coaching is made by the client in-between coaching sessions. To ensure that progress, I will expect you to agree to “fieldwork” to be completed between our appointments. You determine what that fieldwork will be and I will hold you accountable for staying on track.

Coaching is What YOU make it!

Coaching is to your career what going to the gym is to your physical health. To get the most out of it requires consistency and a willingness to work at it. But, what the heck. It is YOUR career. I’d say that’s an investment worth making.
